Valentine's Day 2017

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we decided to hold "afternoon tea" event inviting all our service users and carers, bringing people together to enjoy some lovely sandwiches and most importantly some fantastic cakes. Over 40 of our service users came to the event, each leaving with fond memories and new friends.

Thank you to everyone who supported the event by baking buns, assisting our service users and helping transport service users to and from the event. Without your hard work and dedication to your service users we would be unable to put on these events.

Christmas Party 2016

The time has come to spread some Christmas spirit again. This year the Christmas party was held at the Swan & Cygnet in Wakefield with all employees invited. While enjoying some good food and drink we celebrated another successful year at Flexicare, but also took time to remember some of our lovely service users who sadly are no longer with us. Our thoughts are with their families during this time.

We at Flexicare At Home would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Halloween 2016

As the darkness rolls in and the weather turns we take time to celebrate Halloween. This year we fund raised for the MS Society & Macmillan Cancer Support. To mark the occasion several of our service users sold craft items which went down a storm. One service user raised over £50 selling her beaded necklaces & bracelets, while another raised £15 through the sale of her handmade Christmas cards. We also held a spooky "bake off" event with several carer's donating cakes, buns etc. We could not ignore the hard work and dedication of those baking such lovely goodies, with Lucy's cake being voted best in show, winning her a bottle of prosecco. The winner of the "count the spots on the cake" competition was Siobhan who won £ 30 with another £30 donated directly to Macmillan. In total over £350 was raised.

One of our service user's, Rob wanted to do something slightly different so offered to dye his hair for the event and was sponsored to do so. He personally raised £ 320.

Thank you to all who helped support this fantastic event

Flexicare Live-in carer, Sara Jackson, organised a sponsored walk around Pugney's Country Park for Macmillan Cancer (Saturday 20th Nov 2013, 1:30pm). A number of Flexicare Carers, management, clients and families took part. Over £400 was raised.

On 9th October 2013 Flexicare at Home held their 2013 Awards Ceremony at Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield.

A Special Recognition Reward was presented to Yvonne Habishaw by Special Guest Michael Karia, for her exemplary care and going beyond the call of duty.

Over thirty employees were awarded their Flexicare at Home 'Psychology of Care' diplomas having successfully passed the 12-week in-house course. Special guest, Bernadette Wormald, presented the awards.

In October 2013 Flexicare at Home revealed their rebranding at a staff event at Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield. Over sixty staff and some clients attended the event. Managing Director, Ann Whaley, presented a review of the past year before revealing the company's new logo and trading name. Office staff then gave a hilarious slapstick performance on bad care practices. A special mention needs to go to the male performers Matthew and Kevin, who are still the talk of the company following the performance.

The office staff then performed a 'striptease' from wearing coats, down through wearing the old tunics and eventually revealing the new Flexicare at Home uniform.

The laughter throughout the event will be a challenge to match at next year's annual staff event!
